It was a rocky start to a very cold morning. We ran right out to where we thought Issiah had headed. Saw a pop up blind and tip ups.
Thought yup there he is, only it wasn't him. Sorry to the guy....
He wasn't to happy with us...Thought there was a derby or something..
So we moved after snow machines were buried in the slush and snow. What a sloppy mess. We managed to find a good spot with hard packed.
Capt.JJ actually started us off with a great fish, but my camera wouldn't work..Too cold!! 26-27" and 6lbs+ by the look of it. He said it wasn't that big, but he's used to catching big ones...
Then STKA found one hungry with the jig rod...
Then we had chili and some homemade bread...a little venison to get us fortified against the cold. Bogmanjr had awesome Chowdahhh, Joe had some Zippy chili, veni sticks, smoked laker, just a buffet of great outdoor foods, veni and shrimp Kabobs the RR made were scrumptious.
Jager61 hit the next flag..He was pulling it in as I walked out...
Good fish around 24"
Then the one we were waiting for, my tip up flag went up. I yelled to MOM to get over there and catch this one. She was all to happy to. I got there and it was running good, let it go for a minute and set the hook for her. She started yarnin it in!! She did a great job with her first!!
25" and 5-6lbs Great fish!!
Was a great day with super people...The Cheeks and Hunt show is well worth the price of admission....
A few shots of our group and set up. One of the best scene shots was of Chucker Jiggin looking out on to the Frabil nation!! They were rippin smelts lips in there!!
Issiah's nephew Jon got into the action with a nice perch!!
If you have noticed, My son Tyler likes to help people with there catches. He had a great day, he said he wants to meet more new people now.
He has always been really shy so these types of things are good for him.
More group stuff and the official group photo....
Had to do a three shot panoramic to get half of us in...LOL
The mug shot!!
We will be doing it again!! What a great time!!
All fish released to fight another day,(except maybe a few smelts for the grease)
Yes, the ride home was a slow, long bounce in the Jeep...But thanks to Bogmanjr's awesome generosity, we had new sneakers on it that held the road very well. Don't know how to repay you my man, will never judge you for your value, only your values. The tops!!
