flip over vs. backseat of car
« on: Jan 27, 2011, 08:18 AM »
Hey Guys.

Friend of mine loves to ice fish but drives a sudan size car. He wants to get a flip over that would fit on the backseat or maybe even in the trunk. He has looked at hubs but they are not easy for running and gunning. Any ideas? brand and style?

Thanks for any and all help

Clam 2000...4 feet by 3 feet x 9 inches high when folded......6 feet long x 4 feet wide x 64 inches high when opened.
Only weighs 45 lbs and he could also transport it with roof racks if he had too.

nature vision pack-shack 1 man
ameristep one man chair shelter

I sat in the ameristep at cabela's, it seemed roomy enough for a man and his gear

not sure how they would be in some wind.......but they'd certainly fit in his car

I can't believe it but I put an Eskimo Quick flip 3 in the back of my matrix

it was about 5 ft long and 3 wide.

a roof rack might be an additional purchase for a sedan though

I have a Honda Accord coupe and manage to fit my large Otter sled with a Clam Base Camp in it in my trunk with both back seats folded down.  Fits like a glove.

does he have a receiver hitch on his car? maybe he could get one of the shacks that mounts to the back of the car? but it might be too low.....Just a thought though.

Do not buy the ameristep one man chair shelter.  I bought one a couple years ago and it last about 2hrs.  I was fishin a farm pond on first ice, 3", and all of a sudden the front of the seat ripped on both sides where it connects the to frame.  I'm 6'3", 260lbs and have never had a bag chair break on me like this.  Scared the #### out of me, thought I was going through.  I was able to salvage it and attach the tent to a XL bag chair, made it 100X's better.
