Just got my Stingray last week, love it.  Love it, Love it.  Easy on fuel, light weight, cuts real nice, not loud, and cheaper, about 1/2 the price of the Electra.

??? The cheapest I've seen a new Stingray auger for is around $240 plus shipping. I paid $340 for me new Electra lazer shipped. That's about $100 difference. I sold my gas auger as over time they are ten times the maintenance with ten times the possible problem areas of any electric.

if u travel and hit the ice hard, and don't want to worry about drilling a hole.. gas or propane, electric is not reliable seen them need a power source to much i fish hard and lots of holes to stay on perch gas is my fave, just my 2 cents

Well I bought the MAKO today at Farm&Fleet. Out the door $250!! I was going to get the Stringray, but I could buy the Mako for the same price and there is only 3lbs. difference between it and the stringray. Went out this afternoon and WOW! Why did I wait soon long to get one!! It is awesome. Around where I fish there isnt alot of people how have the power augers. Three holes in less time than it took for 1 on my Lazer. Thanks for all the info!

if you drill alot Gas. If you sit in one spot electric I could go either way but gas or electric I would take gas just becouse I drill alot.

I was on a bus and just happened to be sitting on a news paper. This guy came up and asked. "Are you reading that ?"
I said  yes, stood up, turned the page and sat back down.
