Jigged up a few Sunday.

We wanted to attend the event, but had a night trip planned. I started second guessing my decision when the cell started ringing at 9:00am with reports of a hot crappie bite. I will never second guess myself again. We hit an "on" lake for the evening bite and it was the right choice. Numerous crappie from 8-18" .

Most were released , but we did keep a few for our parking access host.

 




If the deep snow will hold off it is going to be a good season again!!!!!!

Fun night Paul! 10 degrees warmer and it would have been picture perfect... Hopefully I'll have some electronics for next time. Thanks again!

Never been much interested in jigging crappie, after seeing that photo I am going to rethink that,  is it mainly a better night time bite?

Early evening till about 2 hours after dark seems to have the most consistent bite. Weather and Lunar cycles seem to play a big part as well.
This week is a prime time, got out tonight again I'll put up a few pics tomorrow.
