Ran into a couple guys looking for a Brand New Auger that they lost coming onto the lake in the dark. We asked over the Radio if anyone had picked it up but no response,Except a few nuckleheads that had to poke fun at it.The guy had been given this as a gift for xmas from his kids,took it out of the box on Friday.I would hope that a true sportsman would not keep this and would return it to its rightful owner.Come on guys its tough enough to scrape up the money we need to fish and buy gear,think about it you wouldnt want it done to YOU.PLEASE RETURN THANKS.

Prior preparation prevents piss poor performance. I do hope the auger is returned but I doubt that it will be.

A GPS is pretty sweet too to mark a trail that you can back track on when this sort of thing happens. Bungees are an option but I've lost things even when bungeed down. Can't really blame the folks that find it and who knows maybe they did try and locate the owners w/o luck.

But yes this would really suck especially a gift from the kids!

Nah I think most outdoorsmen are pretty honest, The minority are the low lifes....

I've got a jiffy model 30 power head i haven't used in 4 or 5 years did run good probably needs carburetor kit now but the guy who lost his auger on sabbatus is welcome to it if someone has the bottom half he should be back in business.

Wish that the people who found it would "Man Up" and do the right thing but I guess that would only happen in a "Perfect World."

How do you guys no it wasnt strapped down It was so cold out anything could of gone wrong...

Just got a message that the auger that was lost is being returned this week! I just got the message on my phone that they are gonna meet up during the week and Ken is getting it back!

I am so glad too hear he is getting back his Auger it renews my Faith in Mankind,I believe most anglers are Honest and they know how hard you have to work to get all the tools to do this sport.Cu-dos to the guy!! Carma will not forget you..

Reading that just made a warm and fuzzy feeling in my stomach... but serious here now.. That's great news. See this derby was nothing but good for many reasons. 1 it makes a ton of money for a great cause. 2 The winner donates 500 bucks back from his winnings and 3rd the owner of the lost auger has it returned by a true sportsman. Couldn't be better if you ask me...
