Ninth Annual NJ Get Together

Get Together Date : Saturday Jan. 22, 2011 (if canceled due to bad ice, etc. an alternate date will be chosen)

Time : 7:00 AM thru 3:00 PM
Sign In : 7:00 AM - 10:00 AM ( You must contact Shawn to sign in, to enter an entry and to be in drawings)
Sign up deadline : Thursday Jan. 20, 2011 8:00 PM
You must be a registered member by the sign up dead line.
Children don’t have to be registered members.

Location : Cranberry Lake ....
Directions : From Route 80, take exit 25, Route 206 north. You can park at the boat ramp parking lot or the one after it. If they are full you can park in the bus parking lot on 206 South side. Make sure you check in before 10:00 AM.

Eligible : Team IceShanty Members .......... children don't have to be members

Prizes : 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes.

If you have an FRS radio bring it. To make things easier Shawn will bring an FRS radio and have it set on Channel 8. This way you can call us to ask and we can give an up to date category size.

Categories

Panfish :
Bluegill, Crappie, Perch, Sunny

Chain Pickerel/Pike

Bass :
Largemouth/Smallmouth

Rules

1 You must be a Team IceShanty member and signed up (sign up closes Friday Jan. 21, 2011 8:00 PM) .

2 You must have a valid NJ fishing license and follow all regulations.

3 The entry is by length ... not weight or girth. We will follow the online tourney rule of as the fish lays ...
not squeezing the tail.

4 You must contact us / come to us to verify and measure your entry during the posted derby hours.

5 No garbage is to be left out on the ice or in the parking lots ... if you bring it .. you dispose of it.

6 This will be a walk on derby ... no four wheelers or snowmobiles.

7 You must park in the parking lot.

8 You must be present for the handing out of prizes .. if not they will be forfeited.

This is meant to be a get together to have fun and any prizes are just a bonus.

Ice safety: The determination of the safe condition of lake ice is the user’s sole responsibility. Any injuries, etc. are also the user's sole responsibility. By signing up and coming you agree to this.

Nice to put some faces to IS names. Thanks to all who organized this outting! The food was good along with some fishing fellowship. I had a good day and a good time. 7 for 10 on

. All pickerel. I had several nice hits jigging but no luck landing any that way.

A couple of those cats were big!!

Thanks everybody for putting all of this together, for the great food and for the laughs! This was my first get together and although I only iced 2 pickeral, I had a blast. It was a bit cold in the a.m., but the sun came out and it turned into a beautiful day. I think the key was absolutely no wind!

It was nice to meet you guys. I look forward to the next one!

Whoever is fishing the KDC tourny tomorrow, I'll see you there.

Flagman and I had a blast today! -2 when we pulled into the parking lot was a shock to the system but as the day went on 15* felt like the tropics! Thanks for the chili and dogs! They warmed the bones up great! Lots of fun and lots of laughs! Until next time......tight lines!

more in the future.and yes Shawn used my credit card lol.he wanted
his own tip ups so he was only able to get 2 with the gift card and

Thanks guys for organizing this. It was a blast. I really enjoyed meeting everyone and the weather was perfect. It was only a couple of weeks ago that I asked how to catch cats through the ice. I guess now I know! Next time count me in, and I'll make sure to bring my share of the vittles!
