My little bait setup (pic fixed)
« on: Jan 09, 2011, 10:43 AM »
So this is what I set up this morning.

I brought my wife downstairs and she looked at it with total disgust, I asked what was wrong and she asked if I knew the definition of a redneck. :o :woot:

Oh well should save me some bucks!

So I might be a redneck if I used a cooler for bait storage. Well I guess my neck is red then. I have a similar set-up in my bsement.

I thought I was being pretty creative as I spliced in a second air stone as well. I guess she just don't get it.

I know she'll understand it if you drill a hole the size of the hose through the top, then run the hose down through, won't crimp the hose that way and then it becomes your permanent cooler! ;D ;D

That is good advice! I hadn't thought of that one. Thanks

Looks like my bait setup. I do the same thing. How often do you change the water out?

I figured I would check them tomorrow or give them a couple days. There are only a couple dozen in there right now.

no it's not a Gorham boys thing because i have the same setup too. Mine is in my unheated garage and it froze over last week. All my smelts died and a quarter of my shiners did throughout the week. I am still working the kinks out but i like your idea of double the bubbles. I have to get something to treat the water (well water) and possibly change it out.

Women just don't understand sometimes.   I've done that same thing before, last year thats how I transported my bait up to the fish for a cure tourney.  I had about 3doz xlarge shiners 4-6", and about 10 doz med-lgs 2-3" in a cooler about the same size.  Made the 1.5hr road trip and lasted the whole day and back home that way.  Great way to keep the water a more even temp.   She may of rather you had put them in the 5gal buckets next to the cooler, she thinking that next time you guys use the cooler her sandwich meat is gonna taste like a bait bucket.   ;D
