underwater lights

was thinkin about buying a clam lucky light...i know these type of lights were for crappie fishing in the summer...wonderin if anybody has tried some sort of lighting on the ice night fishing for walleyes or crappie

tried it a year ago at sylvan.it was about 10pm and the water was clear.it didnt attract any crappie like i was hopeing it would.
ran it off my vex battery,drained it in about 30 minutes.set it up about 4 feet from my camera,worked great to see the gills come in.

ya they work, need deep cycle battery, and don't fish right over the top of the light.

Has anybody tried this for perch ?? I have thought about getting one that has the long wire that can be sank down to 20 ft or so . I just don't know if the light would bring them in or scare them of bing it is not normal
