I've fished a couple of them with mixed results.  I would like to find the crappie.  Would also like to find pike on tip-ups... have had them out for hours, but no flags.

How do you get out on Stearns?  I heard it's locked by private land.

Tried it once a couple weeks ago and got nothing.  I don't know much about it... heard you can get gills and pike there, but maybe only in summer...?

Yea I have fished bruces in the summer with little luck.  Hoping maybe it was better luck in the winter.  I suppose it still doesn't hurt to try it sometime.

Bruces i have heard people get pike and gills.
Pettys bayou has perch and pike and gills.
Millhouse was good for the first ice, but with the amount of people that have been on it every day for the past month and half im sure the fishing is slowing down alot.
Stearns has crapie, gills, and pike.

Im pretty new to this area myself, im stationed down here and if anyone is looking for a ice fishing buddy send me a pm. Im always looking for people to go ice fishing with!

haven't fished it in a few years, but it is worth the walk every time.  I wish I could get my spearing shack back there.
How do you get out there?
