Anyone know how thick the ice is on lake carmi? Love fishing that lake but i live about 1 1/2 hours away

6 to 8 inches out there last night, we took out our wheelers and had no problems, besides the bite being kinda slow

How many tip ups r u alowed out there?? Never fished it. Any parts of lake better fishing than others? I live 2-3 hrs away would like any info that might help me and my son have a good day.

8 tip ups allowed, really, fishing is good all over the lake... You can try many places and find your favorite. I personally don't go too far from shore and go at night... The north area can get you into fishing quick and also the State park.

My first skunk on Carmi tonight. It hurt it really hurt. 4-830 pm not one flag... The ice is real sketch is some places I mostly had 5-6 iches but not much more then 10 days ago. A lot of slush and  and nastyness depending on where you go be careful. Jr's bait shop mentioned some 1 inch ice in front of Dewing road. Stayin away from there for a while.
