I just got a pair of Irish Setters 1600 g thinsulate 12" high I believe it's the 2869 model. I'm very pleased with the performance of the boot.

I have been wearing my woody sport mucks for the last few trips and my feet have been getting cold. I have a pair of the LL Bean Pac Boots and while they are pricey they are the best boots I have ever worn for the ice.

I have a pair of gortex cold weather combat boots with 900 grams of thinsulate. They're my favorite boot but when you're not moving around, fishing from sun up till after sun down without a shanty and it's well below zero they can get a little chilly. Moving around fixes it. My other, bigger pair of sorels has 1600 grams of thinsulate (or whatever insulation) and they don't let me get cold at all, even if I'm not moving around out on the open ice. Also, wearing stabilicers, or just standing on a piece of plywood or insulation, can make a huge difference.
Don't cheap out, go for something that's waterproof, and comfort is pretty important too.

I have been wearing mickey's for a few years now and never had an issue.
I did buy myself an early Xmas present and pick up the Cabela's Inferno 2000 Pac Boots. Great reviews, hopefully they perform even better.

Sorel Glacier Boots are very warm and well worth the money only drawback is they're heavy.

Lots of good suggestions. I have a pair of 1200 Lacrosse boots and I love them. Haven't had any issues with the cold. If I think it might be a problem I throw in a pair of toe warmers and it's like your piggies are in the Bahamas. They are a rubber boot, a little heavy but bone dry. Good luck with your choices.

Muck Arctic Sports or Kamiks are the only way to go for warm and dry. Picked up some muck arctic sports at the local amish boot shop for $75 brand new. Grabbed a pair for my wife as well. She wears them everywhere now.

I wear Cabela's Trans Alaska pac boots. They are alittle heavy and they hurt my ankles, these boots aren't for walking long distances. They have around 3 1/2 inches of insulation under your feet. I have been wearing these boots for a couple years now, in sub zero temps. and have never gotten cold feet.
