Lake Champlain spots to fish
« on: Dec 10, 2010, 05:11 AM »
Once the season gets going I would like to take my two boys on a trip to the big lake. We live in Brattleboro,my boys are 14 and 12 yrs old. Any spot easy on or off would be good for starters. Like to get them into some pike, perch action and of coarse walleye but as a fisherman I know those walleye spots are cherished. Any ideas would be fine. thanks

The Sandbar on way to the Islands.  Dockside (a sponser of this board) is on the way for easy access to bait.

Plenty of parking at the sandbar state park.  Left side good for pike and perch......right side good for salmon and browns.

Hope that helps.

Park in the access just south of the demolished bridge and head straight out.  You'll have a lot of action chasing perch and crappies, with the occasional pike thrown in.  If the shanties are out there, so are the fish.

We have gone up to goose point a lot last year... i did not get a chance to sit down there were so many fish. we must have caught 15 pike on tip-ups not much for size, we lost a lot too.. and a bunch of perch i think the kids would like it.
