I've wanted to do this for a while. I bought some felt from my local craft store and here we go!!

I started off by trimming down the felt to 4"X5". I think that's big enough for a flag. Then I printed out several copies of the Ice Shanty logo.

Once I had all the materials together, I started cutting out different stencils of the logo. I have 3 all together. The first is the full logo so I can make the out side of the hut.

Next is the inside of the hut....

Then comes the guy. Does he have a name?

And the almost finished product....

And all colored in!

I used a sharpie for this one but I might try black dye on the next. I'm hoping dye will bleed through enough to be able to copy the stencil on the other side.

Cool idea!

Lucky for me my best friend owns a large format printer and I got him to print me all sorts of designs on some orange highway grade reflective vinyl.. they look pretty slick.

To answer Neveruminda"s question yes the logo is registered and possibly copy righted. A few years back a talented member copied the logo and made an ornament for his Christmas tree. Really nice work other members asked if he could make one for them site addministration put up a post. Saying he could make for his own use but not sell to others.
I believe decal stickers with the logo are for sale in the pro shop and should stick to plastic-vinyl flags. I' m sure a post will show up soon on this thread.

Good topic, I was talking to a buddy of mine recently about ideas for tip up flags. Both my daughters are in graphic arts it would be real easy to make.
Now just need to come up with a few ideas.
The new flag looks great!!!
