After 3 days of 60 plus degrees the ice is pulling away from the shore I was on my lake yesterday and fell in close to shore in 3 feet of water up to my knees I could not see the ice was was cracked because of the snow on top,and it was murder getting off.The snow which was on top was frozen in the morning around 6 inches but in the afternoon it trained into boot pulling quagmire.Away from shore the ice was still 8 to 12 inches but be careful I think the big lady is ready to sing.but if you do go out,bring a buddie and bring a vest your spikes, this is the time of year you must be CAREFUL and it was a great year for perch and bass
