i hate that wind!!!!! (a good day fishing)

well i changed it up a little and left the bass alone I targeted pike today.  first off i didn't trust the ice with with my 4 wheeler so i walked out about a mile from the parking place. I took the cover off my clam scout and the wind catches the cover and it's gone. I was in the north end of great pond. I tried to catch up to it but it went out of site fast. so i get set up and fish. plenty of flags thru the day with a few nice fish. at the end of the day i drove to the state landing and went for a walk looking for my cover. I found it blown up on shore about 3 miles from where i was fishing. I thought that thing was a gone forever.

this was the biggest of the day.  ;D

Thats a sweet fish.  Where were you on the lake?  I heard theres good pike near Hoyts island

just remember when fishing rangeley this summer
when the wind blows from the east the fish bite the least
when the wind blows from the west the fish bite the best

 Nice fish Jeremy. I wish I could have gone this weekend, but both my rides are broken down.You got lucky catching your cover.How was the ice any open water out there?

thanks guys. she was 38" not sure on weight. if i had to guess i'd say around 18#

Nice looking pike, good way to end the hardwater. You're a lucky devil on the cover. The last time I lost something in the wind was at Moose Pond in Bridgton and I never saw it again! ;D

I fished the south end of great. The group beside us caught 2 that were 38 and a bunch of smaller ones. They also caught a 4lb brookie. That was a nice fish. I only caught one 4lb pike all day really slow for us.
