ok so what a good time with the shanty guys.uno was the first to get there,as mr. indian and i were on his tail.the first problem started when uno got to the bait store and the guy only had 5 DOZ good size bait when uno ordered 5 to 700.i talked to the guy also and told him 15 doz on wed.long story short 3 hrs later and a 100 mile we had a 30 grade shiner thanks to mr. indians contacts.we drove up north 45 min to high gate and landed good bait.so much for getting there early.lol porter and butchy showed up and then johhny oh boy.did some fishing in to the night.mr indian took the biggest at 29 inches.i drilled 85 hole and emptied my tank trying to find n edge.finally i found it.i fished into the night and checked tilts every 30 min to 10 min.LOONNGG NIGHT. only one flag with a small 18 pike.flag was at 1230.so we were fishing and saw some guys jigging and decided to go and see what they were getting.ended up with a lot of info and 7 7'' perch.then uno indian and i moved shop.uno ended taken lead with a 32 inch then me to follow with a 32.50,then a 34 inch.well i was doing good until (mike you can tell the story your way after) mr.indian landed a nice 40 inch 17.1 pig.that was all do to mikes new way to fish the indian hills.lolso so much to tell ill show some vids and pics and let the boys add there say.as the days went by all the guys showed up.never heard from the western guys.i think we ended up with about 80 to 100 pike.they averaged 28 to 32.as you see the video i have a new set of traps that are cherry wood and look like furniture.these are a new product of indian hill its for a great cause they will be out this year for the end of season.they are also in memory of a young boy that lost his life at 6 of leukemia.so this is for him and can i tell ya that i fished straight through two nights and the ice fell right off the tilts they are the best.you want info on these there will be a story to come on the shanty. ;)so much to say boys add in your stories.oh yea the food was great we had so much it wasn't even funny.

What a trip.  Special thanks to unoman for the last minuite invite.  It was nice to finally meet some of you guys.  Anyway, while picking up my traps i found one with my flag safety on. Unoman was standing with me as i set the hook on something that felt heavy.  i pulled up a pile of weeds and found a 10" pickeral.  Proceeded to the next trap and realized i had left that safety on also.  That was the 17 # pike.  I'm almost happy it happened that way.  i thought i was pulling in another small pickeral until it got half way up the whole.  All in all it was a great trip. Thanks again and i will see a few of you back up there in a few weeks. mike

I told Art I was going out tomorrow for Salmon and Trout and asked if he wanted to join me.........he looked at me like I had two heads!!!! I guess you wore the poor old man out!!!!!

Just wondering what type of tip ups you use .I have never heard of a flag safety. I fish with Polar , lakers , 40 up, etc. that have drag systems but no flag safety

I fish indian hills, my traps have a safety on them that slides up the trip tube and locks the flsg in place for storage. I forgot to pull it down. mike

Great weekend guys - a blast for sure.
