Northeast Iowa Mississippi river
« on: Feb 06, 2010, 09:08 PM »
Has anyone been up to Lansing, Harper's, desoto, Blackhawk area or herd if anyone is doing any good up there.  I was in brownsville,Mn a week ago and got some nice fish.  I'm going up to stay for a week in about a week and and just wondering where to start. Thanks for any info.

I was at Desoto Friday, looking for a night bite none to be found.  Marked some fish on the Vex.  It's been slow all January doesn't seem to have changed.  From what I've heard, if they do bite it is for an hour or two then shuts down again.  18 inches plus for Ice thickness.  New Albin has been slow all year.  The only good bite I heard of was in late December on North Shore (Lansing).  If you're catching fish up north I wouldn't waste gas and time searching for a better bite right now.
Good Luck!
