11" Gills on Musketoon!
« on: Jan 22, 2010, 10:24 PM »
Okay so many of you guys are new to this site this year or last spring. You need to relize that this is an open site to the public. if you post a lake has fish expect about 50 guys there the next morning. There are alot of people who are lurkers on this site just trying to get info on where to fish. and when you tell them a lake name expect to get overwelmed. alot of people don't put in the time to find a good lake.  And then you blabber it on here for all the world to see. You don't need to be a member to see posts here. you should keep your lakes to PM's unless your talking about ice conditions and let them figure it out unless they PM ya.  You guys are killing yourselves.

Couldn't agree more. It amazes me how many guy's can't keep they're mouth shut. And then wonder why their are so many people fishing around them within a week.

Good post Mud, It will be funny to see how many views this thread gets.... I was thinking ,back in the day on this site when it first started many good intentioned anglers used to openly share fishing info on lakes even naming them... But as you said, PM's are the only way to go now.
This site has exploded in the last 3 yrs. and there are many lurkers out there just waiting for a free handout.
Here's one for them.. Higgins lake has millions of smelt in it and they are biting everywhere. Help out a severely hurting town and go fish it. Just clean up your trash as you leave.
"Oh honey don't worry ice fishing season is almost over"     Oh Yeah, then we got steelhead, then bass, then big lake salmon, then fall river salmon........etc.

I am willing to pay top dollar for honey holes. I will give a freebie though. If you fish meijers you can catch stuff you never could imagine. They have water there you can even catch lobster.

well spoken mud, Another thing I have noticed from other sites is when posting picture make sure theres nothing that people could use as a reference point in the picture.

On another forum a guy posted on a lake I had been fishing.  Using words such as limits, slabs, huge..... you get the idea.  Well it went from 25 guys one weekend to about 300 the next.  But guess what happens............. the fish shut their lips because you opened yours!

Funny isn't, some people just don't get it. I've even seen people post specifics and then a week later complain about how busy that spot was! >:(

Thats funny, after that guy blew his mouth on the other forum I went into this place for some bait.  Asked where the fish bite was.... guess what lake he told me, Yup, same one the guy was blowing his mouth about.
