I'm the taxidermist who took the pike in.There is a formula that biologist use to get the weight of a fish, you take the length of the fish and multiply the girth of the fish and multiply by the girth a second time and divide this number by 700.So in the case of Jaylunds pike:44" long x 22" girth x 22" again and that equals 21296,then divide this number by 700 and you get 30.42 lbs.I have checked this formula with fish that have been weighed on certified scales and it has always been within an ounce. So there you go,now carry a calculator in your tackle box.
