Anybody have any info about seeley lake? I'm going to make a trip to do placid, inez, hidden, and seeley. i'm hoping to find some pike, I'm yet to catch one. Any info would help.

I've always done well on the north shore of the river outlet just off the public beach using chubby darters in perch colors in about 12-15 ft. of water.

Hard telling what it weighed exactly. When weighed on the ice it was just over 25#. When they got off the ice i received several texts from 25# to 27#. Then the next day it went to the taxidermist and it weighed 30.7#. But its still growing since yesterday I saw a face book post saying it was 31.7#. If I had to guess I would say the taxidermist had the most accurate scale. And out of probably 15 phone calls I received telling me about this fish even before it was off the ice, I would say that the taxidermist was the one most reliable. Thats his 6 year old daughter laying next to it. All I really know is I have never caught one this big and I have only seen one larger one come out of Seeley lake. See you all at the Pike on ice tourney at seeley this weekend if any of you guys are going.

I'm the taxidermist who took the pike in.There is a formula that biologist use to get the weight of a fish, you take the length of the fish and multiply the girth of the fish and multiply by the girth a second time and divide this number by 700.So in the case of Jaylunds pike:44" long x 22" girth x 22" again and that equals 21296,then divide this number by 700 and you get 30.42 lbs.I have checked this formula with fish that have been weighed on certified scales and it has always been within an ounce. So there you go,now carry a calculator in your tackle box.
