MyFishFinder.com Just like iceshanty but warmer
Ok guys, until now I've only really tip-up fished for pike and jigged for panfish, mostly perch. Tomorrow a fellow employee and myself are going to venture out into the Adirondacks and try tip-up fishing for their big cousin-the Walleye! So I am setting my tip-ups up later tonight with size 8 trebles with a glow bead above the hook with 8lb fluorocarbon leaders, probably around 3' long, with a medium shiner and was wondering, first of all is this a decent start... my main question is should I add a split-shot, or no split-shot. We will be fishing anywhere from 15-30 FOW and the area is sandy flats adjacent to some islands... there are also a few areas close by with some weeds. While waiting for flags we will be jigging for perch and eyes out, around and in my fishing buddies new Nanook 2-man...Any info positive or negative would be very helpful, thanks!!!
