Jiffy age by serial number?

Does anyone know whether the year of manufacture can be determined from the model/serial number? I have an old Jiffy 30 handed down from my father, and just want to pinpoint exactly how old it is.

post the number of engine.... example  av520- 677311f- 04752    the first  digits of the last set of numbers will give an indication... above example   would be a  1970 1980 1990 2000. now if the carburator has adjustable mixture screws you can eliminate 1990 and 2000  by them epa restricted carbs were on these.....

Call jiffy's 800 number (jiffyonice.com has it) and they can tell you over the phone after you read them the serial number. Takes about three minutes.  My old one is 28 years old!  NO, it's not for sale!

I emailed their address [email protected] with the serial numbers and received a reply within a couple days. My household operates two Jiffy 30s, one manufactured in 1988 and the other 1998.
