they are a lil bulky and stiff but if you're wearing cloth like material (don't have some sort of ice armor suit) they can really save yeh on a slushy day. I use some leather water proofer i got at an army and navy meant for boots and it seems to keep them in good condition from season to season. they are not a fashion item and can look a tad funny sometimes but who cares about looks hwen ice fishing?
