fish it all the time thru the ice. it can be good, there are some good size lmb in there. best luck jigging. gotta move around. lots of pickerel. some crappies and perch and the occasional trout. i like it because its quiet and protected. crystal lake is a zoo and mashapaug is a zoo and a wind tunnel.
bigelow is hit or miss. a guy from dep told me this spring that a few walleye and salmon have made it into bigelow from  mash thru the feeders between the lakes. haven't caught any but heard stories. nice place to fish, especially if you have kids.

The end of the pond closest to the asphalt road (Route 197) is the deepest, thats where you'll find most people fishing for trout.  Be cautious around the cement outlet when on the ice there.
