A pearch is a mythological creature that was said to have grown to enormous proportion by gorging on fruit dropped from a pear tree whose branches overhung it's lake. ;)

A bibet is a hook wrapped in lead frojm the eye to about halfway through the curve of the hook and painted.  They are work great if you can find the particular color the fish like that day.

Always had good luck with the teardrop bibbets. The trick is finding the color. I have my favorites. ;D

Think of something sort of cashew shaped. I make my own by wrapping lead fly-tying wire around the hook, decreasing size from the eye to half way through the bend. Cover in fly head cement, wrap in thread, cover again. Let that dry, keep covering it with head cement until the finish is smooth. Paint them (plain yellow with a black dot or white with a red vertical stripe works for me  ;) ) Then coat with clear nail polish.

Chi,

Give Gil Gagner (Martins Store in Highgate Springs VT) a call @ 802-868-4459; he makes some of the nicest bibits I have seen and used. Perhaps he can sell you some of his more popular patterns.
