trying to get away with out getting in trouble
« on: Mar 02, 2009, 04:13 PM »
I just received a report that my buddies are killing the walleyes on Oneida Lake . I live 200 miles away and have been up there 5 times this winter. What is the best way to go up there again without getting in trouble?. I asked if she wants to go but she hates the idea of fishing all day.The seeason only has 2 weeks to go and this is the best report I have heard of yet .Should I just leave at night while she is sleeping and  deal with the consequenses when I get back. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. :icefish:  :icefish:

I new I would get a comment like that. When I go I usually stay for 3-4 days. I  don't really think it's a matter of being whipped[ i'll have to ask her] just kidding. I have been up there for about 20 days this winter so she is pretty good about letting me get away with stuff.

Tell her that you are going fishing & if she wants to go along, then help her get ready to go. If she chooses not to go, Go yourself & have a great time!
If she's there when ya get back. she's a "keeper"... If she's gone, or "beaches" when you return... Then find another who likes to fish, or get one who tolerates her boyfriend/husband that does fish & hunt...
Good Luck...
:D
PS. I have a keeper.. Been married going on 29 years.. She knows .. she either goes along , or stays home... I am happy when she does either....
Skippidy do dah, skippity day... My oh my, What a wonderful day...

Into shape
Shape it up
Get straight
Go forward
Move ahead
Try to detect it
Its not too late
To whip it
Whip it good

Book an inexpensive 3 or4 day getaway for the two of you at a later date. What does she like?

I don't know what to tell ya, man.  The last time I asked my wife if I could go fishing, she looked at me and rolled her eyes.  Then she said "I'm not going to tell you you can't go fishing, why do you even bother asking?"  I'm all set as long as I let her know where I'm going and when I'll be home...

Maybe tell her you'll buy her a new car or something.  It doesn't have to be before the one she has now dies or gets too old, but you also don't have to tell her that!

I remember one time when I spent a little time at a bar with my crew after work and when I got home, my wife told me that I was in the dog house for the weekend. A while later she asked why I had hooked my camper to my pickup. I told her that I was taking my dog house to the mountains for the weekend and pulled out of the driveway. When I got home Sunday evening she had mellowed out. That was 34 years ago and she is still with me. I don't know if it would work for you.  :o
It seems to go from zero to hero all some have to do is lie.

Do whatever it takes. Cut a deal.  I have been known to cut a deal like:

Honey, I'll clean the bathrooms.. That works ALL THE TIME!  ;D
Or Tell her I owe her Dinner, and she makes sure she cashes in!
Or "Gee, you have not seen your parents in a while, why don't you visit with them!
Or Look, you want me to do this or that up at Camp, while your at the beach.. It's the same thing!
Or I will go visit your Parents with you next week
Or BEG!!! I've done that before! it's 50/50 at best
Or, Just GO!
Or,  Or,  Or...

If there ia a will there is a way!  I use these when I want to fish both weekend days. She knows I am fishing 1 day each weekend and has no issue with that!  It's just when I push for 2! ;D

See, what you have to do is put fish days in the bank, like do something she has been wanting for a while and you can always use that later.. There are a ton of ways to get through this..
