Guy's,
I walked a mile out from baseline that night 2 weekends ago not 200 yards to catch fish. Me and only one other guy there on that saturday night that far out in 80 fow. The weekend before when the ice was good there was 75 in the same area. Sorry if I hurt some people's feelings with my honest opion about the ice. But i think alot of other guy's felt that way 2 saturday's ago. It has made ice since then and maybe those spots where my spud went through in one hit in 70 fow water that scared the shkktikfo out of me that night our 5 to 6 inches know I am not a ice expert, but this was probably the reason no one was there that night.  But I have fell through the ice when I was dumb kid. And I have saved a man with two others just before a rescue squad showed up at shore, 5 years ago...and believe me he would of not lasted until the resuce squad got there. Oh....by the way....my fishing buds at work in BC thought I was stupid snfi to be out there in the first place that Saturday night.....but I love to ice fish! Just giving you my honest opion....I will be there and will be fishing......proably not with the quad....but I will be fishing it Thursday and Friday also seeing I am on vacation after tomorrow.....so I will provide you another update if you want. But if it bothers people I guess I won't.

no bother.....I get scared out there to sometimes.  Like I said you do what makes you feel comfortable.  I don't own a quad so I won't be taking one out.  I don't fish alone on Gull at night.  If you fall in it is up to yourself to get out.  You can scream as much as you want out there and no one will hear you.  Be careful friend.  Oh ya,,,you can catch smelt during the day also.  Hard to believe but I have filled the bottom of a bucket befroe at 9:00 a.m. in the morning.
