I've been watching that too. Thinking about buying one my self. The price has dropped from $165 to $149 including shipping. It's an Eastman Ice Cube knock off.

That is really similar in size and color to my Shappell 6000.  I paid $200 with free shipping.  $149 is a great price.  That 84 inch center height is really nice.  They go up easy, even in a good wind, once you get the hang of it.

Took it out for the maiden voyage today.
Set up was a breeze, it' huge inside.
Unfortunately the first gust of wind folded in the windward side hub, tore out two corners and flipped the shack over leaving me sitting there with a slightly dazed look on my face.   As quickly as I could I folded it back up and put it in the storage bag.
I am contacting the seller and will see how things go.

Wow,I'm glad your ok.You dont mention any of your gear getting damaged so thats good too.I happened to do a search here yesterday on those type of shanties and that was 1 complaint listed.I wanted 1 to mainly use just for myself and was told set-up could be hard if it"s windy and take down even harder for just 1 person. Was the shanty anchored?  Like you my wife bought me 1 today but a 1 man flip over.I hope it works good,I got it half way built now just got to get the canvass on tomorrow am.I'll try it out 1 day this week. My only dis-like so far is some better pictures in the instruction manual would have been better. After seeing the manual I thought it was going to be awhole lot worse to assemble,so far it wasnt too bad.

I have a Cube, and which is pretty much the same thing. If it's anchored on all 4 sides there aren't any problems. I've had mine out in 30 MPH winds. Things were flappin' but it didn't go anywhere.

It was breezy when I set up but I left the windward side for last, I had no trouble setting up.
After the wind help take it down it wasn't bad folding it up and puttting it in the bag.
Fortunately there was nothing else damaged except my pride.

When you set it up in the wind, you anchor the flap with the eyelet facing in to the wind. This holds everything in place. Once it is expanded you go to all four sides and attach the straps to the ice anchors.

I anchored the corners, what do you mean by straps?

Was contacted by the sell today and was told to return it for a replacement. ;D
They seem to be pretty stand up people.

Dose anyone have a picture of the straps that big dog is talking about?
I think I know what he means but I'm not sure, I feel a little dumb.

When the shanty is expanded the hubs on 4 sides have an eyebolt with a 3' cinch strap. This cinch strap goes in to a screw in anchor in the ice. With all 4 straps attached to the ice anchors the shanty can't move.

You can see the strap hanging on the left side. They tighten for you too. I only had one strap anchored down that day. The eastman Icecube has a strap on every hub.
The angle of the dangle is directly proportionate to the heat of the beat.

My buddy just got the little kill zone. It is a nice shack. The only thing I didn't like was the lack of adjustable straps off the hubs. The holes in the skirt seemed to work fine for him to anchor with. The kill zone has more window than the cube. Big+.

I take a bunge cord and run it from the hub to my auger. . . still a pain but helps.

I bought eight more ice anchors direct from Shappell, and have enough to lock down the entire apron and four tie down straps.  I made my tie downs out of 1/2 inch nylon rope, two carabiner-type clips per tie down and a 1 x 3 x 1/4" piece of oak with two holes drilled in it.  Make a tightner like you used to see on pup tents, and one carabiner to the eyelet on the shelter and the other to the ice anchor.  Cinch the wood tightner to tighten the line.  If you need to move the house drill an ice anchor at the new location, then you can clip in a tie down strap and keep your shelter from blowing away.  Bring a cordless drill with a 1/4" bit to predrill your ice anchor holes for quick placement.

That was as clear as mud, so I'll post a picture of my strap.

Well things took a turn for the worse.   I was patient and waited and gave plenty them plenty of time to do the right thing.
I sent the shack back after receiving an email that it would be replaced ($28.00 shipping).   After they received it I had not heard for them so I email and ask what's up.   I am informed at that point that they will not cover the damage and that I'm SOL.   I email back about how they had changed their tune and told them I was not happy with that answer.   Three days later they tell me that they'll sent out a new one for $20.00.   I reluctantly cave in and ask how and where they want the money.   No reply.   Went to the bank today and started the charge back process.
This is the worst customer service I have ever had.   The emails I recieved were rude and angry.   Just want everyon to remember.....
