dont know bout wawassee, but we talked to a guy today that told us that the trout population was gettin outta control at pappakeechie! evidently this due to the sudden AND UNEXPLAINED decline in their main predator, THE BALD EAGLE

Yep contact the Papakeechie Protective Association and ask them about that big ice fishing derby they are sponsoring. I think they are calling it the Bald Eagle benefit derby?  ;D

Nice Trout!! Not trying to start a problem, but if you guys didn't know they were in there, did you have trout stamps?? I don't expect an answer, but if you go back, make sure you have them. You are adjacent to DNR property and already have issues with the land owners there. ;)

do you hafta have a trout stamp if you are on private property? we just figured that if the public cant fish there then it must be private! and i am absolutely sure that the dnr did not stock these fish! so if one of us did not have a stamp would he still be in the wrong?

if its considered private then you don't even need a license let alone a stamp!

My neighbors daughter has a place there. Her mom tells me it is a steep hill down to the lake. If I remember right you can't even have a gas motor on it. I'm not really into trout is the fishing for panfish any good?

Greg,

Piketooth says only lake association members, no relative or friends.   ;D

A friend of mine got a hold of the lake association rules/regulations or whatever, to check out about fishing there. He said it is stated in the rules that all you need is written permission from a land owner to fish the lake. You got that and there isn't anything PikeTooth can do to you!! ;D

Wouldn't I be correct is stating you don't need written permission to fish, just written permission to walk on someones property??  They don't own the ice, the State of Indiana does.  Would this be correct?
