I have fished and parked right where thos trucks were just two days ago.  There was about 10-12" of ice might be a bit les but I heard that someone drilled a hole right in the middle of all the trucks.  I know the guy who posted this and his 09 silverado was in there too but not as bad.  Just poor judgement on someones part.  But that will definitly ruin a good days fishen.
For those that fish lake george NY, PLEASE DONT LET THE STATE LOWER THE LAKE TROUT SIZE IN LAKE GEORGE!!!!!!!!!!

Wow that really does suck. Is it just me, or does that ice look a little thin to be driving on? Sure doesn't look like 10"-12" to me. I wouldn't want the bill for that tow job...... :o :o :o

yep its defenitly a jaw dropping experiance what gets me is that i heard a few people saw what was happening before the ice sank and they didn't even say anything to anybody that they walked by or didn't even have enuogh courtsy to take a ride on his four wheeler to let anybody know what was going on back at shore i do understand that the lake is big and you came to fish but at the same time what if that was your truck in water up to the hood again thanx to viele's automotive and curts autobody man that water was cold!!

What body of water is this?  It must have been layered (sheeted) ice, I too can only see 4-6 inches.  Regardless, that sucks...

I WONDER WHY PEOPLE WOULD DRIVE A GOOD TRUCK ON THE ICE AT ALL WHEN YOUR INSURANCE WILL NOT COVER ANY OF IT GOING THROUGH.

you can see shore from the pictures. is it too hard to walk the extra 50ft.? on top of that, parking three trucks that close together. seems like it was well deserved.

that sucks... thats why i park in the spots available across the street. i doubt there were 13 inches since some of the bays that froze first have just barely that much. but sorry to hear that. hope the fishing was good

WOW !!  :o :o

what a bizarre ending to what could have been a good day of being on the ice - to this day I still would never take my truck out on the ice - I like her too much to fill her up with icy water....

hope everything at least turns out well and someone learns a lesson....

atleast its close to shore......
when chuck norris played golf for money, chuck marked down a hole in zero every time, the golf pro said, "chuck: you can't score zero on a hole." Chuck norris turned towards the man and said, "I'm chuck norris, the man proceeded to pour gas over his body and set himself on fire because that would be less painful than getting roundhouse kicked by chuck norris....chuck norris roundhouse kicked him in the face anyways

If you park trucks right next to each other like that guess what?  ??? They sink! You would need 18 to 24 inches to park in a row like that!

Not that i'm defending anyone, because I wouldn't park my truck on the ice, but unfortunately this is a popular access point, and the off ice parking is VERY limited. there really is only room for about 8-10(barely) vehicles to legally park without nearly blocking the road, which is narrow. There were between 35 and 40 trucks there last weekend.

So how do they actually go about towing someone out from that mess?  Does the tow truck get as close as is safe them just start pulling them out one by one?  Just curious.
