The Res. has Largemouth Bass,  Walleye,  Rainbow and Brookies,  a gazillions small perch.  I have caught some big perch in the summer never targetted them on the hard water.  That's pretty much whats  in there and a whole lot of peace a quite and pretty mountains..

Usually there is enough parking. Place is real nice as its mostly wooded and the mountains make a good view. But quiet?? Nope..Lots of snow machines.

The place can be tough. I only caught one walleye there and that was it for fish besides runt perch, and I put in lots and lots of hours.

well actually its a very big parking area  you just get some people that take off with sleds from there, and they don't pay attention how they should park, but I think there is enough room up there.

Parking can be a pain in the... on a nice sunny day.  Don't park in the back or you may be spending a lot more time there then you wanted to.  Been there!!!  More snowmachine trailers than fishermen.

Pretty interesting. No wonder she was so fat!

When I was there, I did see a guy come off the ice with a nice one almost 5lbs. But man did I have a tough time.

Do not know if any of you out there have heard but chittenden damn has the highest population of perch by density than any other waters in the U.S. You can catch them by the pail full but you very seldom get into any big ones. But hey it's a great place to take the kids if you want to make sure they catch something.

Never heard that, but I can beleive it. The perch there seems endless..and are all about the same small size.

maybe they need more predators in there.

you know there are some nice bass but not enough to take out the perch population. It would be nice if they put in a couple thousand pike and knock down the perch. The walleye they put in a few years ago are now huge from eating those little perch can you imagine what would happen if there were pike in there...

Northerns would do great in there.  I would hate to see the Walleye have to compete with another top predator I think the state would do better to stock more walleye and give up on the trout,  heck its only 20' in that lake at the deepest.

i think it a waste of money stocking trout in the reservoir. i agree on Ur point of walleyes competing with another predator. theres enough lake with pike in the area. there are so many small perch, they need more walleyes.

Is there really allot of pike habitat??

There are so many perch in there, the walleyes have plenty to eat.

From what I saw, they are all exactly like that. Too many perch to grow slabs.  They are stunted..you can catch 50 of them and if one breaks 7" I would be shocked.

Walleye fishing is very, very slow. But some nice ones...

I think the state is relying on the amount of walleye they put in there a few years ago to clean the perch up. they do need more walleye in there.  Yes they will spawn but a yearly stalking would be good for the res. The more big fish there are the less dink perch there will be. This has to be the only place i know where you can leave a perm shanty and go there every weekend to jig for perch and catch your limit and then some in an hour.

Last I checked those walleye don't spawn succesfully.  I'm not sure why.  I think they maintain the stocking program as the fish become available.  It's not annual though, but in the very recnet past.

Walleye are stocked in Chittenden to
a. Create a walleye fishery
b. To increase the size of the perch.

Walleye are stocked every other year to reduce cannibalism.

PLEASE... NO PIKE!

Once in a while you get one of these.
