how to keep wigglers alive
« on: Jan 22, 2009, 03:51 PM »
i looked through most of these posts and didnt really see this questioned ansered other than putting them in a plastic tray and putting no more than a 1/2 inch of water just enough to cover their backs and changing every other day.  just wondering if there are any other methods that work.  if this has been answered more than what i seen im sorry 4 beating a dead horse but any info would be greatly appreciated
give a man a fish and feed him for a day teach a man to fish and his wife will hate you for the rest of her life

I hope we are talking about the same bait...Wigglers in water???? Isn't that a death sentance? Keep them in the sawdust, in  the fridge and they last for a long, long time.Just like spikes...

That is exactly the way I have always kept them.
Fisherman's Prayer
I pray that I may live to fish
          Until my dying day.
And when it comes to my last cast,
       I then most humbly pray:
When in the Lord's great landing net
           And peacefully asleep,
That in His mercy I be Judged
              BIG ENOUGH TO KEEP.

change the water every other day.

Don't put in too much water, or they will swim themselves to death.

I put what I am going to use in the "Large"  bait puck ( Red )

Put it in a cooler with a hand warmer to keep em from freezing.

Hope this helps,

Wiener
