new place...small pike
« on: Jan 21, 2009, 03:19 PM »
headed to a new spot with BigPaq, Pikehead and SacklessPro81. Sackless fished this spot in the summer and did real good with bass. Highlight of the day was a 13lb pike, Thanks Pikehead and Sackless for helping me land this fighter. He did not want to come up the hole. Pretty slow, we should of went up the street for salmon. No snow storms, a bright and sunny day.

Knowing a pond or lake is onething.. having a landmark in the background is another.

i agree people surf just to find spots and this is howyou keep it clean.whats the big deal your missing the point of the fish not the back ground thats childish if the back ground bothers you to each its own if i caught that many pike or had the time i would do the same.good job paq n friends on the post of good looking pike.frozen
Keep busting those holes and re-baiting those Indian Hill's

You may not drive to east bumfart because someone posts a picture on a lake/pond with a big pretty fish, but the hundreds of lurkers here will start making trips out there as soon as they figure out where it is, it's not so much the lake but finding landmarks or posted signs etc in the  background that are a dead give away to your spot.

Next time you are out fishing and land some good fish, make sure you stand there and hold it up in the air blasting an air horn and tell me how you feel after everyone on the lake moves in on you.

I fish a lake in open water season and if there is a lot of pressure on the lake I won't go anywhere near my productive spots because the few times I have, while everyone is trolling around, I've been sitting in this one area for an hour with tight lines. Before you know it, there is 6 boats all within 400 yards.

I'm sure a few other members here can attest to the fact if someone spills the beans on a good spot, you'll be setting up your gear at 4am just so you can beat the 4 other groups trying to hit that spot. The group I ice fish with, we've been battling to get to this one spot but even at 5:30am we can't get it.
cant hook it! have to be honest!! looking for used underwater camera & older snowmobile in the MA area.

Don't take them for granted gentlemen, they are not easy to catch. If they were easy then everyone would be catching them like that.
Nice Fish.
