When its good when its good... specs galore!

Well since I am a newbie here I will disclose a few things. I am a rookie. Yes I have ice fished before but not often. Last year once, was first time I saw a hole in the ice in well over 15 years. So this year I was invited to go and didnt do so well.  I decide since I own a Clam that I should go one day. Mind you I have no gear except some real warm boots and bibs.
My brother and I go, actually he and buddy asked to borrow my shanty, I tagged along. We fished a spot that we had fished many years ago growing up, did ok with the crappie, got 20. I decide to keep a pole and go alone one night and limited out.

Well I hadnt saw the ice since we had cold spell. With the clam in the house thawing out, I decided to head to my honey hole. At 5 pm I hit the ice and at 6 pm I was back in the car.
I had my limit before dark. I ran up to shore to a friends house and dropped her 10 fish and got me another 10. That was total of 35 in the hour.
Pictures coming. All of good size, 8-10 with a few 11s.

Sorry for the crappy pics. Not bad for an hour of ice time on a 20 year old memory. No vex, no shanty, not even a lantern. A kids snoopy pole and an stick with 2 screws in it to wrap line around. Tear drops and tiny bobbers.

As long as your private property is still in Michigan then yes, the limits still apply.

If you are the sole owner of the lake and all the property around it......you may catch as many as you want.  If you are a guest......you may catch as many as you want.  But when you leave that lake/private land....you are now on the "states" land and you will abide by the Michigan fishing rules.  So in short....catch clean and eat all the fish at the owner of the lakes house and you will not be hassled. Don't get caught with more than 25 panfish in your possesion in a day.

I may not have been very clear.  I had caught about 20 or so and ran to shore to get a drink. My friend was leaving and I knew they were, so I took em 10 fish. I then finished out my limit and took 25 with me.

All in all not a bad night. Howie wanna swap some gills for some specs lol. I know the lake is a great source of nice gills in summer, I just dont know where to begin to find em now.
