The Red's dead at night. Have never in fact had any luck ice fishing walleye after dark anywhere.

in the past years I have done real well fishing at lockport at night. the fish dont start to bite till about 3-4 am. this lasts till about 7am then slows down a bit till 9 or 10. i think the lights at the locks have something to do with it cause i havent caught as many anywhere else along the red at night. lockport is not ready to be fished this year so stay away from the lock area.

Did not mark a single fish once it got dark!
Even tried the old lantern above the hole trick  :D

Have ice fished lockport for about 17 years and have found nothing at night but summer fishing at night for cats is another story - good times to be had

from my experience night time fishing... you have to KNOW a night fishing spot...or else your just gonna get stuck with nothing or a mariyah.. i heard people were catching on the lake night fishing but.. its not something id suggest doing unless you know the area very well or own a snowmobile... this year i was near the steam plant...about 1am and i had this NICE BITE so i hooked him with a nice set and it was tuggin pretty good i was all excited to see this big fat wally...and here comes this 8-10 pound mariyah...i think after that day it killed night fishing for me
