That all depends on the lake you fish. My favorites are Salmo chubby darters, jiggingRaps,Swedish pimples and most times a jig and a med shiner or sucker minnow.

nope no bait is needed for the salmo lure.............I have 4 of them and usually only use the perch color number 3.........have had the best luck with that one the number 4 is a hard one to fish as you need to use 3-4 lb test.........the same goes for the number 4 but 6lb works ok............I started with that and now find that the lighter the line the better the salmo swims...............as for what type of bait/lures to use this time of year I like the Frostee Jiggin Spoon.....I have had great luck with it for walleye as well as crappie and sunfish........I think there are 3-4 different sizes I use one size up from the smallest one tipped with a crappie minnow head and the big walleyes love it............also try out the Buckshot Rattle Spoon they are also a very deadly walleye lure.....tip it with a fathead and jig like crazy...........hope this helps out a little bit

white swedish pimple with minnow head jigging next to a plain hook with a lively fathead on a deadstick.

I find that the best walleye bait at this time of year is a 1/8oz pink jig with a medium shinner. its worked great for me on the red at sugar island in these last few weeks

Treble? Really? i never use a treble.. a single hook is a lot less for them to feel.
