Crappies in the bucket
« on: Dec 24, 2008, 08:21 PM »
Icedogg set me up on a hot spot in Kosciusko Co. today.  It was slick, wet & windy.  We were on 8-9 inches of ice.  We were fishing 20 fow dropping a small #14 fiskas jig with either a bee moth or 3 spikes.  I kept missing some larger fish and I switched to a #3 Jiggin Rap chrome/blue tipped with spikes or a
Forage Minnow with spikes and we got into some larger crappie.  We gave 18 fish away...didn't want to clean them all.  Here are the fish I brought home.  Ice still looks good as of 4pm.  Merry  Christamas Everyone!

Nice mess of fish Bret. Myself, I love the forage minnow. I use the slightly bigger one just to draw fish in. They have a great action when snapped up, and a great flutter on the way down. The white back, in glow is a GOTO lure for me. Altho I have the reds, and some other colors, its a great lure, especially up north in minnesota. The flutter/drop action comes close to the jiggin rap, altho a little more suttle. I,ve caught many a crap and walleye on those lures....Merry Christmas....Slayer out
