Warm Weather bites!!!!! Its unbelievable, it was just 20 degrees yesterday now this lousy stuff.....ruining the ice

yeah its crazy.....we can go from 12 degrees one day.....to 50 degrees the next..... :cookoo:

It's not unheard of.  The ice already in place is pretty durable, but this will test it.  In other years when this has happened, we've gotten a real deep cold wave to close out December and have good ice ready for the Class "B" water opener.

went to check bait traps on a rather large pond in springvale and there was 3 inches of ice there yesterday...cousin and i walked out there fine yesterday...today was another story tho. I was the only one getting on the ice my 130lb frame was cracking the 1 inch of remaining ice...it was the scaryiest/ most exciting time on the ice. Needless to say i pulled that trap after i found the piece of wood floating in the massive hole.

i worry every year that its not gonna freeze by the first, almost always does though.  long range accuweather forcast shows we should have plenty of ice by then.
