Lowrance Flasher unit ?
« on: Jan 28, 2004, 07:05 PM »
Hi guys ,yea it's me again .My dad reminded me of a flasher unit that I got at a rummage sale years ago it is a Lowrance Fish-Lo-K-Tor LFP-300 .I think I need a transducer for it it has an old stereo type plug .It runs off of 2 6v.type lantern batteries .I don't have a manual for it and Lowrance hasn't gotten a hold of me yet they don't seem to offer one anyway.I didtalk to them about the fishin buddy and they said to send it to them with $79 and they would go through the whole unit for me .I did a little investigating and figuired out what I have but the transducer is ruined and with no manual ,how do I find a transducer replacement or more important how do I find how many megahertz it runs at so I get the right one ?HELP?!?!I found a ton of them on ebay but no one selling just transducers .

The Lowrance LFP-300 flasher runs at 192 KHz.  The current Lowrance transducers of this frequency will work for this unit just by changing the connecter on the end to a 1/4 " phone plug which you can get at Radio Shack for a couple of bucks.  The cable is a coax cable.  The center conductor wire goes to the tip of the 1/4 " plug while the braid goes to the barrel of the connector.
That unit is between 20-30 years old but they were a very good unit for ice fishing.
Good luck.
