LX5 Arrived...Hurry Up ICE!!!!!!!!

14 Nov couldn't have been a better day (except if I had been on the ice).  LX5 was delivered to my office 1 hour before my retirement ceremony (military thing).  The LX5 is my first flasher. I've been living in southern IL for the last 3 yrs and unable to ice fish, last few months have been driving me nuts waiting to move back to MI and get back into ice fishing.  Throughout my career I was alway stationed in northern states, (WY, ND, VT) except for the last 3yrs way down here in the south (St Louis area)  locals here don't really consider it south but its way to far south for my liking.  Anyways in another week I will be back in MI pacing back and forth waiting for the ice.

Congratulations!!! so many people I fish with in the summer from southern states just don't understand the desire for winter and ice....They think I am crazy....probably not too far off tho...

Thanks....wish I could say that i'm retired for good (but I'm not) and could fish 7 days a week but retirement pay is not that good expecially with kids still in college.  From everything I've been reading about these flashers, this winter should be awesome....ice fishing for me has always been more about hanging out with friends and family and catching fish was just a bonus.  That won't change but now maybe I'll catch more fish.

Congratulations on your retirement and thank you for your service.  It must be a great feeling to be able to scale back on the work load, or at least the necessity to work.

You'll love your flasher.  A flasher, frankly, makes ice fishing more FUN.

I will be getting the LX-5 around Christmas this year I believe. I just have to sell my old VX-1 which shouldn't be hard. I have seen they are going for around 200 on Ebay..
I'm sure you will love the new flasher and will find it is worth its weight in gold for sure!
Its something like playing a video game on ice and really shows you the moods of the fish also keeping your confidence up because you know whether or not there are fish down there and if u are doing something right or wrong.
