Hamlin Lake Ice Fishing Trip
« on: Oct 31, 2008, 10:57 AM »
I'm new to this forum and I need some help.  I'm planning a trip to Hamlin Lake, Michigan in late January 2009.  I'm not familiar with the lake and I need some advice on where to stay.  There will be 8-10 guys and we like to panfish and run tip ups for pike or walleye.  We would love to be able to walk right out in front of the cabin and fish (some of us are a little lazy).  Which is better fishing, Upper or Lower Hamlin?  Has anyone had any experiences, good or bad, with a cabin or lodge rental at Hamlin?  Recomendations?  Thanks to anyone that can help!

Remember:  If it's too cold to fish...buy warmer clothes!

Welcome to Ice Shanty.com!!!!  your best bet for the info you requested is to post the same message on the Michigan board. At the top of every page,  there's a button labled "Forum"  click that, then scroll down to the Michigan board.  Lots of luck with the trip!  and again, welcome to an incredible forum!!!!

Fished it many times...always fished off the boat launch near Barnharts Resort...easy to get to. Take Jebavy Road north off U.S 10 and you will run right into it. Gills and pike in there. There is also a lake (Lincoln I think) north of town by the cemetary that is good for pike. Call Pere Marquette Sporting Goods in Ludington for all your fishing needs (reports, bait, tackle, etc.) Good luck...
