Crystal lake - Harrison
« on: Mar 31, 2008, 07:24 AM »
went out on sunday to see what I could get up on the ice. No flags. Not one.  I think it was the High pressure system between two close feeding frenzies (storm friday and storm monday night) The moon told me the bite would be later in the day and I had to pick up at 3 so my lines were not there for the lunar extimates. Anyway, I took one of the group home boys and we had a blast - it was fun to act like a kid. we used downed branches as a bat and hit snow baseballs, had a snowball fight and most important
found three holes in the ice that had frozen up under 4 inches of snow because my AUGER DIED. it is all fouled up and I think it may be the plug or perhaps smoe h2o in the line. I didn't bring my tool kit as she has run perfect all season. So we fished but not the spots we were hoping for.

Ice conditions - pellets top four inches and then the long ice crystals 4-5 inches long vertically then snow, then an inch of black ice, 1 1/2" of water then 3" black ice. I wouldn't be near the outlet if I were others.

A friend will come and bail you out of jail...But a good friend will be sitting beside you in the cell yelling holy sh** that was fun!
