Ice report? How long? NE INDIANA
« on: Mar 02, 2008, 08:21 AM »
Hello everyone. I was just wondering how the ice has held up so far in NE Indiana. Anyone been out to Sylvan, Appleman, Bixler. I have been really sick and haven't been out for 3 or 4 days. Then, there was about 10" with 2 " water and 8" of snow over that. I may try to make it out if it's still good. Thank for any info. It's gotta be a sloppy mess. Supposed to be in the mid to upper 40's today.

I think we'll be fine for a while.Yesterday there was no less than 10in it's going to take more rain and more warm days then what we are in for,to hurt the ice for good. Fish while you can, all good things come to an end.

well I made it out to Sylvan and did fairly way. around 20 gills and 1 nice crappie and 1 smaller bass. The bite was mostly steady, and showed alot of fish. Caught them in 5-8 fow at Brady's landing. I was using chartruse and orange teardrops. I had to leave earlier than I would have liked because my ride had to be home. Plan on going back in the morning.....  didn't need a slurpy or slurple or whatever. lol

Cool... I kinda figured that out now that I finally was well enough to make it back out. Didn't seem to be any major visible change in ice thickness or integrity yet. There was a little slush on top. Still 4 wheelers all over the place too. Thanks for the info!
