night lights for crappie

do you guys ever use lights for crappie ? never caught many through the ice. going to a lake that has some in it. thought the light kidea might work  ???  ???  ???

I have used them... Usually catch a few more fish the nights I put the light down then the nights that I don't.

 Just get yourself a coleman lantern! I use 2 of them! I believe it brings in the zooplankton and baitfish and then the crappies! Sometimes you might have to wait a while before a school moves in but if your ready with your glo jigs,you can really clean up!  ::)  I rather fish at nite than during the day!!!

knows how to catch them after dark.

I've thought of trying it myself.
Dirk327 and I have tried it out at the vill in our shack and it almost seem to be to much for them.

all depends on the lake you're on...some lakes lights attract, some just doesn't seem to make any difference...try it all till you get it right...

Very true. I use a coleman lantern for heat-light, BUT have also fished in pure darkness and caught alot of crappies.

I have one of the new type auto bulbs wired up to my Vex. They are waterproof and work good. Just don,t let the bulb touch the ice as they get very hot.
