Anyone been to Nelson lately?  I am thinking about trip up there in a couple of weeks and was wondering how it is?  Any info would be greatly appreciated.

We were up to Nelson this last weekend... The ice is about 20 inches thick... In 3 days we had caught 19 Northerns average of 4 pounds (biggest 15), 6 walleys (biggest 4 pounds), and lots of perch. We were using 3 inch minnows on tip-ups. We were fishing north of the boat ramp in 15 to 17 feet of water. Make sure you take your ice cleats (no snow on the ice). Wish you the best of luck

Yup,  Driving all over it.  It is good soliid ice every where.  Don't go near the pressure ridge.

Fished 2 days, caught 7 Northerns 6 - 8 pounds and 2 small perch. 7"ers.   I was disappointed in the perch as I had been led to believe they were mostly 10 inches.  There was not much action on them anyway.

I fished it on Wed and Thurs. this week.  Actually it was pretty slow.

Give a man a fish,  he eats for a day.
Teach a man to fish,  he sits all day on the ice drinking beer.
