43 Inch 23 LB Plus Pike

Managed to sneak away for a few hours of fishing in the afternoon yesterday for some pike action.
My 2 friends and I ended up getting into a lot of small pike all afternoon and I was lucky enough to close the day off with a pretty decent fish.

As luck would have it my 2 friends had to go home early and 30 minutes after they left I caught this one.

She ended up measuring 43 inches and was very girthy all the way through.  I couldn't get a girth measurement of her as I didn't have the proper tape to measure her without putting a lot of stress on her and possibly hurting her.

I quickly measured her, took a couple of quick photos as I had no-one to take any photos with me holding her and threw her back to let her spawn out in a few weeks.

I guessed her at around 23-24 pounds given she was 43 inches and very girthy.

Hope I can catch her again in a couple of years when she's a little bigger yet. ;)

The pike pics. I have seen from canada convince me more and more that I need to save my money and pay for the chance to catch one there.
