Why would some one pile up three deer, two fawns and a doe they shoot along the road on some public land and not take them home. Seen that this year.!

That sucks, and illegal.

I enjoy catching bass, they put up a good tug on the line.  Not so good to eat, I'll take a panfish over a bass anyday.

Honestly don't think they totally understand what they're doing outside of killing an "unwanted" predator near their hole for that trip. Those Bass and even Hammerhandles are what keep a lake balanced, year round. Read posts here and there about "dinks" everywhere, would bet most anything the predator/prey balance is way off. Problem in most outdoor activities lately is a live for the day attitude, the future, WHAT(?)--- no big deal, there's always another/better lake to hit, just gotta lurk for it

i have left fish on the ice before.  not intentionally but it happened.  they were in my sled behind my three wheeler, got back to the truck no fish.

Anyone that willingly waste fish like that is a prime candidate for an "ice-hole swirley".
There is no reason for killing fish like that.

I am not sure why, but it upsets me everytime I see it.  I went to 3 different lakes and saw quality fish, left to waste, not including the doezen of dinks that are now common place.  1st lake there was 14 perch 9-10" left dead at the launch.  2nd lake there was 3, 10" crappie/2 8" gills .  3rd lake had 2 pike less than 24" left on the i ace.  All lakes were in newaygo county............  I know there are some unhappy, lazy people out there but you dont have to pig it up for the rest of us.

I always hate to hear about a fish that's killed that's not intended to be eaten!

My guess is that if they are quality fish they decided that cleaning the fish would be too much work and they figure someone would come by and take them.  As far as dinks,  I just don't get that.  Is it that hard to take a fish off your hook and throw it back down the hole?  I came across a pile of dinks the other day in an area that a guy was using tip ups for pike.  I assumed he caught them for bait but I was tired, a bit cranky, and didn't inquire for fear he would have said the wrong thing and then I would ruin both our days.

I think most people go to the lake to catch their own fish.  Not fight with the gulls sorting through what is on the ice.... but seriously,  I understand it can be considered a pain to only clean a few fish but you can always save them up.  IMO, 14 perch would make a nice meal!

I've built a meal 2 or 3 fish at a time.  And you're right Dave, I wouldn't pick a fish up because there's no telling how long it's been there.

GRRR! I HATE to see people do this.  Bass are not a fish ment to eat but to enjoy catching. I am mainly a bass fisherman in the summer and this can really screw up a fishery.  One lake a friend used to fish you could pull out 10-15 3 # plus fish a day and then these people started keeping all the legal fish they caught and now you're lucky to catch a keeper a day :'(
A day without fishing is a day wasted.

My dad is friends with this DNR guy that bass fishes and although it's legal he says they hate to see people keep bass and they are out to get people that keep them.  They are always watching them and trying to pick out something wrong.
