has any one heard of the ice angler for augers?
« on: Feb 06, 2007, 08:32 AM »
I saw a picture of it and what it does it widens the bottom of the hole in a cone shape. It says that it makes it easier to get fish up the hole. Was wondering if anyone has bought one and has used it.

Where did you see it? Got a web address? I use a spud to cone the bottom of my holes and I think that helps a lot getting fish started up the hole.

Found these on the web. Shows the patent and distributer, but cannot find the actual product. If you find something else let me know.

I had heard they went out of business a few years back. There supposedly was a problem with the unit not always collapsing back in to allow you to get the auger back out of the hole.

I found out the company did go out of business. They went out of business because of problems between the two partners.

I found 3 of them and purchashed them. The guy I purchased them from said he thinks they are the last three around since they went out of business in 2004.

The guy said they work really well that he has not had any returned. I will give an update once I try it

Good book, and the rest of the series for softwater is pretty good too.

A few people around here bought them some years ago and from what I have heard they went back to the store. I heard they were crap and didn't work very well.
It seems to go from zero to hero all some have to do is lie.

kinda odd, but i have a homemade hand unit that does this very same thing,  i went to the web site us patent office.  search ice augers and scroll thru them.  2 guys came up with the idea, they are from coon rapids minnesota.  there are drawing of the unit on there also.
