 I used to take my old lab/shepard mix all the time, she'd sit in the shack where i had a large piece of styrofoam for her, my new young lab on the other hand i wouldnt trust to leave  by himself while i went and checked lines. If you do take your dog make sure there are no baited hooks lying around, my cousins dog had to get a hook surgically removed from her tongue aftrer picking one up.  $$$$$$$$
Theres only 3 seasons..open water, hunting and icefishing!

I don't have a problem with people taking their dogs with them, but don't bring it if you cannot control it. 

  same thing for kids

I think I am going to take her with me this weekend . . I especially like the idea of making her drag the sled across the ice for me.  Not that it is really heavy, but it will be fun to watch!
