Ice jig prices (something interesting)
« on: Jan 25, 2007, 08:58 AM »
Was checking out Custom jigs website the other day and while I love their stuff i find it to be quite expensive. Was looking at their "precious metals series" basically little silver and golds jigs and if you want you can buy one jig prerigged with one of thier micro tails for $1.00 which may seem to some reasonable but then I looked in my Cabela's tackle catalog and you can buy a dozen silver fly tying jigs that go all the way down to 1/124 oz from 1/16oz for 2.50 or 2.99 for gold and put whatever you want on it.... hmm

I agree you have to watch pricing, unlike other products you don't often see fishing stuff on sale, and when you do the margin of profit is so low that the markdown isn't much.
