Chain-o-Lake State Park
« on: Jan 21, 2007, 09:49 AM »
Any word on Chain o Lakes on ice.  I was up there 9 days ago fishing from the boat.  The only lake I could get on was Long, due to the ice at the ramps on the other three. Too windy for Sand Lake.  Fish were at 19 ft and deeper and not biting.  Heard Norman and the narrows was producing fish around the first of the year and it still should be if we get ice.

Started out there today
The narrows 1inch. open water 75 yds out from inlet
Guys were on norman not sure of thickness.
couple guys on dock................2i nches. 4 of us got close at the ramp and she was crack'in
HOWEVER  water fluctuations have caused alot of hanging ice. walked out on a tree at the narrows and touched the ice and it collapsed. dropped a foot or so. ice was about an inch with 10" of air under it. water had no ice.
Are some fishable spots just be careful..
Lack of planning on your part in NO way constitutes an EMERGENCY on mine
